Dozens of parents, children and teachers enjoyed Pajama Family Math Night at Hawthorne Elementary. It was an opportunity for children to explore fun math activities with their family and show-off what they are learning in school. October is Fire Prevention Month. Firefighters from Hawthorne and Thornwood Fire Departments paid a visit to the children to teach them all they need to know about fire safety. Read more about the firefighters' visit. The second annual OneBook, One School event kicked off on March 4. This year's title is"Friendship According to Humphrey" by Betty G. Birney. Please visit the Registrar page and complete your Online Kindergarten Pre-Registration by February 1, 2020. You will then be prompted to make an appointment to complete your registration. School Dismissal Manager is now live at HES. By using School Dismissal Manager, you can quickly and easily update instructions when your child's dismissal needs to be changed. School Dismissal Manager is the only system used by the school to determine your child's daily dismissal procedures. Daily exceptions must be entered by 11:00 am. for full days and 9:30 am. for early release days. If your family does not have access to a computer, smartphone or email, we will continue to accept paper notes. Please do not call the school or email your child's teacher with dismissal changes.
